The first time I set foot on Camp Mary Orton, I was in elementary school.
My private Christian school had brought us out for a field trip · one of those team-building days where the goal was to work through the ropes course together and figure out how to solve problems as a group of eight-year-olds. I remember the tall trees. I remember the way the air felt different once you were on the property. I remember the sound of my friends laughing.
Years later, I was working a corporate job and my company took us on the exact same team-building outing.
Same obstacle course. Same 167 acres. Same feeling.
By the time I was there again as a wedding photographer, I already knew Camp Mary Orton better than I know most Columbus wedding venues · not because I'd photographed a lot of weddings there, but because this place has been in my life since I was a kid.
And I was pleasantly surprised to learn they hosted weddings at all.

You still might want florals for bouquets, boutonnières, and the ceremony arch · but you don't have to build a floral cathedral to make this venue look breathtaking. It already does.

I have to talk about the woods.
Camp Mary Orton has some of the most beautiful woodland portrait light I've worked in anywhere in Central Ohio. The waterfall trail, in particular, is a photographer's playground · dappled light through the trees, natural pathways, textural bark, moss on the rocks. If you're the kind of couple that dreams about the portrait session as much as the ceremony, this venue delivers on that dream.

Drive time. Camp Mary Orton is on North High Street about 25 minutes north of downtown Columbus. Easily accessible for guests, but far enough to feel "away" from the city.
Wedding pricing ranges from $2,375 to $6,950 depending on which spaces you rent and what season. That's genuinely one of the most accessible price ranges for a full-property venue in the Columbus market · especially when you factor in that you're not required to spend thousands on in-house catering.
Wedding-hosting is not the property's primary function. Camp Mary Orton is first and foremost an active camp and community facility. That means the on-site staff is stretched across many priorities, and communication can occasionally be less rapid than at a dedicated wedding venue. Plan accordingly, and know that it's not a service issue · it's a mission-focus reality.
