If you're planning a Columbus, Ohio wedding, chances are Jorgensen Farms has already come across your radar.
There's a reason for that.
Tucked into 100 acres of pristine farmland in Westerville, Ohio · about 20 minutes northeast of downtown Columbus · Jorgensen Farms has been quietly earning its reputation as one of Central Ohio's most sought-after wedding venues for years. Two distinct spaces on one property. In-house floral, catering, and coordination. A working organic farm run by a fifth-generation farming family.
But as a wedding photographer, there's one detail about Jorgensen Farms I want to tell you about that you won't find at the top of most venue reviews · and it might change how you tour the property.
The getting-ready suites.
The Star of the Property · Getting-Ready Suites for Bride AND Groom
Here's what nobody tells you about wedding venues until you've been to enough of them ·
The getting-ready space is where your day is either set up for success or set up for stress.
I've photographed weddings where the "bridal suite" was a rented Airbnb 30 minutes away, or a tiny back-of-house room with fluorescent lighting and no natural light, or (my personal least favorite) a hotel bathroom with the door propped open. I've also photographed weddings where the groom's "prep space" was a folding chair in a hallway because the venue didn't build one at all.
Jorgensen Farms is a completely different conversation.
Both venues on the property · The Gardens and Oak Grove · offer two fully equipped getting-ready suites. One for the bride and her party. One for the groom and his. And both are the kind of spaces that make me exhale the moment I walk in as a photographer.

What makes the Jorgensen getting-ready suites different
They're air-conditioned.
I want to say this one twice because I don't think couples realize how big a deal this is until they're standing in a summer wedding dress in an un-air-conditioned prep space in July, watching their makeup melt in real time.
Ohio summers are humid. Ohio wedding dresses are heavy. Ohio makeup artists spend the last 30 minutes before the ceremony blotting foreheads and wondering why the venue can't just install a window unit. Jorgensen solved this. Both suites are fully climate-controlled, which means everyone stays comfortable, the makeup stays put, and the getting-ready photos capture joy instead of survival.
They're actually spacious.
Room for the entire bridal party. Room for the entire groom's party. Room for makeup artists to set up their kit. Room for the mother-of-the-bride to sit and watch. Room for a photographer to move around without asking people to shift.
They have real amenities.
Each suite includes a kitchenette, a lounge area, a private bathroom with a shower, and thoughtful design that anticipates what a wedding party actually needs. This is not an afterthought space that was converted from a storage room. This is a purpose-built space designed by people who understand what wedding mornings actually look like.

They have natural light.
Which sounds obvious until you realize how many wedding venues put their getting-ready spaces in windowless interior rooms. Natural light makes getting-ready photos beautiful. It also makes hair and makeup work more accurate · because the makeup you're going to be photographed in should be applied in the same kind of light you'll be photographed in.

The Two Venues at Jorgensen Farms
Jorgensen isn't one venue. It's two distinct venues on the same 100-acre property, and
choosing between them is a real decision.
The Gardens
The newest and most recently renovated space on the property. The Gardens features earthy-yet-modern architecture, a floor-to-ceiling plant wall that serves as a breathtaking ceremony or reception backdrop, and an outdoor ceremony space set in the lush garden surrounded by blooming hydrangeas. A wildflower garden nearby offers dreamy portrait light in every season.
Best for: Couples who want a modern-natural blend. Those who love greenery and thoughtful architecture. Couples planning larger celebrations up to 250 guests.

Oak Grove
A reconstructed historic greenhouse with string lights installed throughout, creating gorgeous ambient reflections during ceremonies. The venue also offers a large indoor space complete with a lounge, bar, restrooms, a full commercial kitchen, a bridal suite, and a groom's room.
Best for: Couples who love the romance of a glasshouse. Those planning intimate to mid-size weddings with a historic-modern aesthetic. Winter couples especially · the glass structure with string lights creates an unmatched cold-weather wedding atmosphere.
What Couples Should Plan Around
The honest photographer's guide.
In-house catering is required. Jorgensen sources ingredients directly from the farm and partners with local artisan providers. The food is genuinely some of the best I've seen at any Central Ohio venue. But it does mean you're not bringing in outside caterers · plan accordingly if you had a specific caterer in mind.
In-house floral is available. Jorgensen has an in-house floral design team that works with flowers and herbs grown on the property. Minimum orders start at $4,000 · which sounds like a lot until you compare it to what full-service floral costs at any other Central Ohio venue.
Complimentary event coordination is included. Jorgensen provides day-of coordination as part of your package. If you're a couple who doesn't want to hire a separate planner, this is a meaningful cost savings.
Pricing. Jorgensen packages range from $4,500 to $18,900 depending on which venue, guest count, and inclusions. That's the minimum spend, not the final invoice · plan for real costs to run higher once catering, floral, bar, and everything else is factored in.
Drive time. Westerville is about 20 minutes northeast of downtown Columbus, easily accessible for guests coming from all over Central Ohio. Building a rehearsal dinner into the same area is easy · plenty of Westerville restaurants and hotels within a short drive.
My Take · Who Jorgensen Farms Is For
Jorgensen is for couples who want everything under one roof.
It's not the venue for couples who want to build their day from scratch with 12 different vendors and complete creative control over every element. Jorgensen has a system · in-house catering, in-house floral, in-house coordination · and the system is good, but you're leaning into their expertise rather than assembling your own.
For a lot of couples, that trade-off is exactly what they need. Planning a wedding is exhausting. Having a venue that says "we've got this, we'll take care of it" removes a huge amount of the mental load.
It's also for couples who value the comfort of their wedding party. The getting-ready suites alone tell you what Jorgensen prioritizes · they built the property with your wedding morning in mind. That thoughtfulness runs through every space.
